Cursed Bear
The Cursed Bear was an enormous grizzly with a grotesque appearance, its fur marred by unnatural branches sprouting from its body. It exuded an aura of corruption that matched the overgrown and decaying state of the Temple of the Elk where it had made its lair. This creature was not simply a beast but a manifestation of a deep curse that had befallen the temple, binding it to the site as a guardian.

15 Pharast 4710 When we encountered the Cursed Bear, it quickly became clear that this was no ordinary foe. Its movements were erratic yet powerful, and it seemed to shrug off minor wounds as if driven by something beyond physical survival. Despite its ferocity, the creature bore an underlying sadness, as if it were aware of its twisted existence.
We initially entered a stare-down with the bear, but Jhod Kavken would quickly goat the bear into fighting. The bear was aggressive, but in the end Lizzy succeeded in a killing blow with Amiri’s dagger.
As Lizzy struck the final blow, the bear collapsed and the monstrous form started fading. In its place lay the figure of an old man, who whispered his gratitude to us before crumbling to dust. This transformation marked the end of the curse, allowing the temple to rejuvenate.
