Tartuk

Tartuk was a purple scaled Kobold with a particular nasty demeanour and a seething hatred for others of his own kind. He often dressed in an exaggerated shamanistic style in a bid to sell his role more to his victims. As a Kobold, he was short, standing at about 3 feet tall, with a draconic snout, tail and clawed hands and feet.

Tartuk was a cruel, manipulative liar who twisted the simpler minds around him to do as he ordered through a mixture of false religion and intimidation. He took glee in corrupting settlements and sending innocents to their doom. He was known to be extremely vindictive and clung to grudges for a long time.

From Chief Sootscale and Mikmek, the party learned that Tartuk had taken control of the Sootscale kobolds, using his significant magical powers to sway them. Tartuk was described as the de facto leader, having convinced two of the tribe’s strongest warriors to join his cause. Chief Sootscale was adamant that Tartuk needed to be defeated before the kobolds could rebuild or ally with the party. Tartuk was known to be fanatical and manipulative, using fear and the supposed curse of the Old Sharptooth statue to maintain control over the kobolds.

  • 6 Pharast 4710 To confront Tartuk, the party devised a plan to deceive his guards. Djames transformed into a purple kobold using his Humanoid Form and pretended to have captured Lizzy. This allowed the party to lure away Tartuk’s guards and position themselves for an attack. However, the plan was partially foiled when one guard raised the alarm, leading to combat.

In the ensuing battle, Chief Sootscale and the loyal kobolds stormed Tartuk’s throne room while the party dealt heavy blows. Kairos, using invisibility, critically struck Tartuk with a spellstrike, and Lizzy’s Slashing Gust further weakened him. Tartuk, panicked and enraged, tried to demoralize the kobolds and invoked the curse of Old Sharptooth. In his final moments, Tartuk attempted to cast Magic Missile, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

As Tartuk died, his disguise faded, revealing him to be Tartuccio, the traitorous gnome from the Stolen Lands expedition. In his last breath, Tartuccio cursed our party and promised that Zozraeel would avenge him, while shouting his allegiance to Pitax. However, Lizzy stabilized him before he could die completely, allowing us to take him prisoner for his crimes.
