Amedaria’s Flag
The flag of Amedaria, designed by Djames and brought to life with rare purple pigments gathered during a side quest at the Temple of the Elk, is a rich tapestry of symbolism, weaving together the ideals, geography, and founders of the kingdom.
Symbolism and Design
- The Colors:
- Purple: Central to the flag, purple represents the fidelity of Amedaria’s ideals - unity, progress, and harmony, and the aim to be honorful nation representative of all, but also willing to defend it by blade. It also pays homage to Kairos - as she’s often seen in a typical purple often used to represent the arcane academia.
- Silver: The silver wavy band reflects purity, ambition, and nobility, while also representing the Shrike and Sellen Rivers, so that it also embodies commerce and fluidity. The colour is also the house colour of Leonardo, who hails from House Lebeda, a founding force behind the kingdom.
- Green: The green section celebrates the rejuvenation of nature, symbolizing the restored harmony of the Stolen Lands. It also honors Lizzy, the forest fey, and her connection to the natural world.
- The Swan:
- The white swan is both the emblem of House Lebeda and a broader representation of Amedaria’s grace, renewal, and potential. It conveys the kingdom’s commitment to beauty and perseverance, as well as its noble roots.
- The Gear and Leaf:
- The orange gear is a dual representation of Kairos’s history from Uringen and roots in clockwork parts and Leonardo. The gear also represents a pragmatic approach to governance, emphasizing the kingdom’s balance of progress and tradition.
- The leaf symbolizes Lizzy’s Leshy side, and her connection to the natural world. The leaf also represents an effort of rejuvenation in efforts to restore what was lost under the Stag Lord.
- Together, the gear and leaf symbolize a balance between the industrious, innovative, and forward thinking nature that Amedaria was founded on, while also living in harmony with nature, the environment, and the people.
- The Three White Circles:
- The Wavy Band:
- The silver wavy band mirrors the kingdom’s rivers, the Shrike and Sellen Rivers, the lifeblood of Amedaria, which are central to its geography and prosperity. It serves as a reminder of the role water plays in uniting people and fostering trade and communication, not just within Amedaria, but in the River Kingdoms as a whole.
