Old Crackjaw

Old Crackjaw is an ill-tempered hookjaw snapping turtle. He took over Arven’s fishing cave on the east bank of the Tuskwater and attacked anyone who came close. The party’s quest log remembers him as “THAT DAMN TURTLE”.

• 28 Arodus 4710 Arven asked the party to rehome the turtle that had claimed their fishing spot a week earlier. Lizzy, as Warden, took the job.

• 31 Arodus 4710 On the way, a group of Sootscale Kobolds met the party. One crept up behind Djacques and startled him, to show how dangerous Crackjaw could be to the unwary. The trail ran through thistles that left Leonardo scratched and stung all day.

  Lizzy cast Speak with Animals. Crackjaw was stubborn but not unreasonable. She offered him a new home in Amedaria, a proper spot carved out for him, where he would serve as a guard. He accepted. Djacques warned her how hard it would be to tame something this wild and set in its ways.
