Nyrissa

Nyrissa is a powerful archfey of the First World, connected to the Stolen Lands through ancient magic. She’s tied to Lizzy’s origin and serves as her “nature momma,” having nurtured Lizzy’s first moments of consciousness.

Appearance

Nyrissa appears as a woman of otherworldly beauty. Her presence makes the air feel alive, and her form shimmers between the Material Plane and the First World.

Nature

As an archfey, Nyrissa operates by the logic of the First World. She’s neither cruel nor kind in mortal terms. She embodies growth, change, beauty, and mystery. Her actions serve the First World’s needs rather than mortal concepts of good and evil.

Connection to Lizzy

Nyrissa awakened Lizzy and taught her the language of growing things and the songs of the forest. She maintains an ongoing interest in Lizzy’s development and the kingdom of Amedaria.

History with the Party

  • Session-15 (Erastus 4710) Lizzy encountered Nyrissa when the veil between the Material Plane and the First World grew thin in an ancient forest. Nyrissa reclaimed Gomi, stating his purpose was complete, and gifted Lizzy with a new familiar: Ryu, a fairy dragon. She indicated that the party’s founding of a kingdom was part of fulfilling certain goals, and that they would need greater help for future challenges. Nyrissa stated they would meet again when the time was right.

  • Session-26 (4 Lamashan 4710) The party confirmed that Nyrissa is the hidden power behind Hargulka. Rather than acting openly, she directs the troll conqueror from concealment—a strong, hidden force steering the unrest in the southern Narlmarches. This deepens the pattern of her using proxies to shape power struggles across the Stolen Lands.

  • Referenced in earlier sessions The name “Iza” (possibly short for Nyrissa) was mentioned by the dying mercenary at the Owlbear’s lair, suggesting Nyrissa has agents or interests throughout the Stolen Lands.

Known Agents

  • Hargulka, the troll conqueror in the southern Narlmarches—confirmed Session 26 to be acting under her hidden direction
  • Dryads in the Greenbelt, who serve or ally with her
  • Possibly the mercenary band targeting the Owlbear
  • Unknown other agents throughout the Stolen Lands

Warnings from Kairos

Kairos has warned the party that while Nyrissa is not cruel, she must be approached with caution. The fey do not understand consequence the way mortals do, and their “help” can come with unexpected costs. Nyrissa does what the First World demands—and those demands may not align with mortal interests.

Likely party attitude:

++ Lizzy: Deeply connected, views her as “nature momma,” fascinated

  • Grateful for the founding of Amedaria and support given ? Uncertain about her ultimate goals and intentions ! Kairos: Wary of fey influence and unpredictable nature
