Current Main Quests:
- Establish a Kingdom: The party is working to establish control over the Stolen Lands, forge alliances, and eventually create a kingdom. We were sent on this assignment by Lady Jamandi Aldori
Current Side Quests:
- Old Crackjaw (THAT DAMN TURTLE): Local fisherman Arvan has a secret fishing hole on the east bank of the Tuskwater, but an ill-tempered hookjaw turtle named Old Crackjaw has claimed his favorite spot. Help Arvan reclaim his fishing spot. Reward: Arvan finds all sorts of things while he’s out fishing. (Session 20)
- Kundal’s Ledger: Investigate the ledger related to Kundal and the werewolf. (Session 18)
- Candlemere Island: Elga Verniex warned about Candlemere Island, which is full of Will o’ Wisps and Shambling Mounds. (Session 15)
- The iruxi village: Elga Verniex warned of an iruxi settlement in the region (Session 15), confirmed by a giant at Hargulka’s Fortress (Session 23). Locals report recent “altercations” with the iruxi, which doesn’t match their usual disposition. The party reached the island in Session 27 - a fortified sand bench in the river, ringed with outward-pointing stakes. Met Xiat, an old friend of Kairos, who reports the king seems possessed by an evil spirit and is pushing the village to hunt humans - the cause of the altercations. Xiat smuggled the party into the village and into one of its mounds, where the “evil spirit” turned out to be a green will-o’-wisp - killed in Session 27. The king, Vesket, walked in directly after the fight, was convinced by the creature’s remains, and ordered the party off the island so he could fix his mistakes in the village. Xiat confirmed the next morning that Vesket only turned aggressive and fearful after he began spending time in the mound - the creature was farming him, and he was a good king before it. Kairos intends to return in about a month to open proper diplomatic relations, and has asked Xiat to send word in the meantime if he backslides. Village name still unknown; the stargazer is still unmet.
- Black Rattlecaps: Find Black Rattlecaps for Elga Verniex. Traveled to the Lonely Barrow to find them in Session 16. (Status unclear - may be completed)
Completed Main quests:
- Defeat the Stag Lord: Be it so known that the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, do hereby place under bounty the living or dead person of the individual known as the Stag Lord. Defeated in Session 10 at his fort.
Completed Side quests:
- Wanted: Bandits!: The bandits in the Greenbelt need to be shown that their actions will not be tolerated. Capture or defeate at least six of them to send a message.
- Moon Radish Soup: Oleg’s been under a lot of stress lately, and Sveltana would love to cook him his favorite meal (moon radish soup) to help him relax. Unfortunately, moon radishes are relatively rare. A patch grows about 16 miles south of the trading post, and Svetlana needs at least a basket of them.
- Kobolds in the Hills! The Sootscale kobolds dwell in a cave somewhere in the Kamelands. Normally not a problem, they’ve been riled up by something lately. Find their lair and ensure that the kobolds aren’t going to continue to be a threat.
- Svetlana’s Ring: Although his wife claims it’s not a big loss compared to what the bandits could have taken, Oleg knows the theft of her wedding ring has distressed her. She’s forbidden him from risking life and limb to recover it, but if anyone else can find the ring and return it to him, he’ll be very grateful.
- The Sacred Statue: Those blasted, dirty little mites have stolen Old Sharptooth, the holy idol of the Sootscale kobold tribe! Get it back, either to Chief Sootscale, or the shaman Tartuk, before it’s too late! The loss of the idol has cursed the Sootscale tribe, and another kobold withers, dies, and turns yellow each night it’s gone…
- Wanted: Tatzlwyrm! The way everyone talks about tatzlwyrms, one might think they’re swarming throughout the Stolen Lands. This isn’t the case; they’re actually quite rare. A tatzlwyrm head would be a great conversation piece at Oleg’s. Completed in Session 8.
- Wanted: Tuskgutter! Every Greenbelt hunter has a story about Tuskgutter, each wilder than the last. Whoever manages to kill the ill-tempered beast will get a nice reward from old, retired Vekkel Benzen, who lost his leg to the monster pig a year ago. Completed in Session 8.
- Find purple dyes: Djames wishes to find purple dyes. Purple flowers were found at the Temple of the Elk in Session 9.
- Track Jhod Kavken: Lizzy was seeking Jhod Kavken, a wandering priest who knows about purple flowers and a nearby temple. Found him at Oleg’s Trading Post in Session 9.
- Ally with the Sootscale Kobolds: After defeating Tartuk, the party allied with the Sootscale kobolds. Successfully completed Pledge of Fealty in Session 15, fully integrating them into the kingdom.
- The Hateful Hermit: Find and confront Bokken’s estranged younger brother, the Hateful Hermit, a reclusive misanthrope rumored to have committed murders. Defeated in Session 17. Rescued Noor (raven) and befriended abused puma.
- Visions of the Elk / Temple of the Elk: Jhod Kavken had visions of a lost temple. The party discovered and cleansed the Temple of the Elk in Session 9, defeating a cursed grizzly bear and rejuvenating the temple. Claimed as kingdom territory in Session 20.
- Capture Falgrim Sneeg: Kersten Garess asked the party to capture his deserter, Falgrim Sneeg, who joined the Stag Lord’s crew. Found dead among the bandits at the Stag Lord’s fort in Session 10. Body returned to Karess Mercenaries in Session 11. Reward: +1 Striking weapon.
- Wanted: Shamblesap: The mysterious Architect sent a letter with directions to find Shamblesap. Successfully harvested from a Shambling Mound in Session 16 (worth 65 gold, equivalent to 4 minor elixirs of life).
- Tomb Treasure / Lonely Barrow: A treasure map found in the Hateful Hermit’s den pointed to a hidden burial cairn between the Gudrin and Shrike rivers, due east of the northern shores of the Tuskwater. The party explored the ancient Kellid barrow in Session 20, defeated the Lonely Warrior and his skeletal guardians, disabled the traps, and recovered the magical flaming weapon (+1 cold iron flaming bastard sword, broken in 2 shards). The site has been identified as having museum potential to preserve its historical significance.
